1. HADR Institute Update: Upcoming Humanitarian Mission

We're excited to announce our upcoming mission to the Thai/Myanmar border region from October 19-25, 2024. Our team will:

• Support WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) Aid delivery

• Conduct a humanitarian access assessment in Kayin and Shan states

• Analyze community-based organization access in typhoon-affected areas

Partnerships and Logistics: We've secured partnerships with community-based organizations operating in Thailand and logistical support for transport and aid delivery. These collaborations will significantly enhance our mission's effectiveness and reach.

Current Needs: While we've made great strides in preparation, we're still short on funds for:

• Production of our comprehensive access report

• Incidental expenses for travel

• Accommodations for our dedicated volunteer humanitarians

• Natural Hazards: Typhoon Yagi has impacted Myanmar, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Severe flooding affected India's West Bengal.

• Humanitarian Crises: Escalating conflict in Myanmar's Rakhine State has increased Rohingya refugee numbers in Bangladesh
